![]() ![]() Everything i’ve tried except for the original Apple Airpods & earbuds make my head hurt or make me dizzy. Past gear experience: I’ve only used no-brand headphones, Apple Airpods & earbuds, Beats in-ears, and some random earbuds. I will be needing a mic, but it doesn’t need to be like those mics on gaming headsets or anything, it could be just one of those attached on the cable. Would be nice to have bluetooth if I wanted to wear it out and about, but absolutely not the first priority. How the gear will be used: Just for at-home everyday video watching, music listening, and gaming. Will buy a headphone jack splitter if necessary, as I need use of both mic & audio. If there’s a super great one, I’d be open to consider spending more. Hi r/headphoneadvice! I’m completely new here and don’t really know much of anything, so please bear with me :) Thank you! (I also flaired the post with just closed-back headphones, because I had to have a single flair, but I'm open to all options).īudget: Under $100, hopefully under $50 but i know mostly? that’s not possible. UHQR records are perfectly flat both at the outer lip and all the way across to the lead-out groove areaįirst they will be "one step." That is, instead of the lacquer being plated to produce a father, then plated again to produce a mother from which stampers are produced, the plated lacquer will be used directly to press records. ![]() Thus perfect azimuth is compromised as well as anti-skating. What is the big deal about "flat" records? Were you to bisect a regular record you'd see that the grooves slope downward towards the center of the groove area and then upward towards the label area. ![]() The UHQR has a flat profile (at least the originals), and it's supposed to be a one step.at least when it was announced a few years back. My guess would be the US/UK mix, but it's not widely known there are actually TWO stereo mixes - and stranger things have happened when reissue labels request tapes and recut albums. So, if this release does come to fruition, the question becomes which stereo mix/stereo masters will be used. So there are actually two sets of stereo master tapes - one for each stereo mix. And both mixes have been used over the years on various vinyl & CD releases. Original UK/US pressings used one stereo mix original pressings in a number of other countries used a different stereo mix. So in essence, the lost master is essentially a discarded test mix (albeit unintentionally).Ģ) Side 1 was quickly remixed (except for one song - which used a copy of the original mix) and those re-mixes became the side 1 master tape - which was used to cut all LPs.EXCEPT (and this is where it gets really interesting).ģ) It wasn't used for ALL pressings because there is more than one stereo mix - for both sides. Assuming this story is actually true (and apparently only the Side 1 stereo master tape was lost).it still shouldn't impact your decision whatsoever because:ġ) The supposed lost tape was never used to cut any album. ![]()
